Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM), or the Malaysian Foundation for Innovation, was established on 20th October 2008 and was approved by Malaysian Cabinet on 7th November 2008.
The vision of YIM is to promote and inculcate creativity and innovation among Malaysian citizens, especially targeting children and youth, women, rural folk, people with disabilities and non-government organizations.
With close support from the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, YIM was established by the Government to promote and champion innovation, and by doing so, to mobilize Malaysians to embrace and practice Creativity and Innovation. This could not have happened at a better time, when the nation is in need of a new impetus and catalyst to move it forward to a prosperous future.
Innovation is the engine that will propel us to that future. More so now when there are so many challenges confronting us, economic or otherwise. Indeed, Creativity and Innovation will energise the people like never before. And it will happen in all segments of our society, in our schools and colleges, from even the grassroot level, in our businesses and industries, and so on.
