Introduction to the Malaysia-Singapore Youth "Institutional Visit"
The Malaysia-Singapore Camp programme started in 1991 and has been conducted annually since then. It begun on the recommendation by the Singapore Prime Minister, Mr. Goh Chok Tong, when he visited Malaysia in 1991. The programme was managed collaboratively between the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and Ministry of Singapore. The purpose of the programme is to promote mutual respect and understanding among youths in both countries.
What does it entail?
One of the components or activities in the Malaysia-Singapore Camp programme was the ‘Institutional Visit’ and Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM) was selected by KBS for conducting the programme for 2010. This provides an opportunity to expose both Malaysian and Singaporean youths to creativity and innovation - and pursuant to the year of Malaysia Innovative 2010.
