KLIF 2011 was launched (15-November 2011) to a packed audience of 520 delegates at the Tun Dr Ismail Hall, PWTC, KL. The event was officially opened by Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation as well as the Chairman of YIM.
Also at hand to witness the opening ceremony were the entire MOSTI senior leadership comprising the Deputy Minister Y.B. Datuk Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, Secretary General Y. Bhg. Dato’ Madinah Mohamad, Deputy Secretary General (Science and Technology) , Y. Bhg. Datin Paduka Dr. Khatijah Mohd Yusoff and Deputy Secretary General (Policy and Innovation), Y. Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad. Dr Raslan Ahmad, CEO of YIM was also in attendance at the event.
The opening ceremony concluded with the Eminent Persons Session chaired by the Minister himself. The session saw a very enriching content and deliberation on entrepreneurship and innovation by the eminent persons. Participants at the Kuala Lumpur Innovation Forum (KLIF) 2011 are set to intensify the focus and deliberation on innovation which has been identified by the Malaysian Prime Minister as one of the key drivers to enhance and transform the performance of the public and private sectors, especially within the Malaysian New Economic Model initiatives.
KLIF 2011 is co-organised by Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM) and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and is attended by 500 high level participants representing the public, private and civil sectors, and academicians, sharing successful experiences and deliberating on related issues to promote a global, regional and national agenda i.e. Towards Achieving an Innovative Society status and A High Income & Advanced Economy.
