Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM) today received a visit from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) led by MOSTI Minister, YB Khairy Jamaluddin accompanied by Deputy Minister, YB Haji Ahmad Amzad bin Hashim, Head Secretary, YBhg. Datuk Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir, Deputy Secretary General (Science, Technology and Innovation), YBrs. Dr. Mohd Nor Azman bin Hassan and senior MOSTI officials.
Innovators need to produce products or services that are in high demand from the target group, explained the Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC). YB Yeo Bee Yin said this during a Dialogue Session with Young Innovators with the Minister held in conjunction with the Malaysian Commercialization Year (MCY) 2018 at Hall 4, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, today. This dialogue session was the closing of the MCY event which took place simultaneously with IGEM2018. Mr. Tany Anthony Kiob, Chief Executive Officer, Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia was also on stage as the moderator of the session.
In the presentation of the 2018 Budget, one of the things that attracted the attention of many was the announcement of 2018 as the Year of Empowering Women. YAB Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak explained the importance of women in the development of the family and the country. This effort he clearly is to recognize this group and put them in a higher place. This announcement is of course welcomed by all, especially women.
Built on the sands of time and in a region of unceasing conflict, Amman, the capital of Jordan, was a timely host for the 8th World Science Forum 2017 themed “Science For Peace” in early November. The country also lies at the heart of a region where numerous civilisations had to innovate for survival. Innovative adaption and cultural exchanges went hand in hand over many millennia.
Malaysia Commercialisation Year (MCY) were held successfully in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 12th until 13th December 2017, in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Community (GECommunity) Summit 2017. MCY is a platform to raise awareness of stakeholders as well as the public on the importance and potential of innovation and commercialization in raising the nation’s revenue. Aligned with the theme of the event, “Designing the Future”, GECommunity Summit 2017 aims to build global communities to drive future growth of entrepreneurship.
